PhD Admission Under the Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme AY-2024-25

Online applications are invited from highly motivated research-oriented students for admission to the Ph.D. programme (Full Time) for the Academic Year 2024-2025.

• Full time Ph.D. Programme - 03 seats
• Part time Ph.D. Programme – 01 seat

under the "Visvesvaraya Ph.D. Scheme for Electronics and IT” in the field of Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) and IT/IT Enabled Services (ITES). List of research areas is attached as Annexure I.

The salient features of the scheme are as below:

Ø For Full Time Ph.D. Programme

• Monthly scholarship of Rs. 38,750/- for the first two years and Rs. 43,750/- for the rest 3 years (support up to 5 years)
• Rent reimbursement (As per the Government of India norms and subject to fulfilment of condition as per the scheme).
• Annual research contingency grant upto Rs.1,20,000/- per year.
• Financial support upto Rs.1.5 Lakh for attending International C
• Opportunity to visit labs abroad.

Ø For Part Time Ph.D. Programme

• Part-time Ph.D. seat is provisioned for professionals working at a reputed place/organization.
• The selected candidates should not be availing any Ph.D. Fellowship/scholarship from any other scheme of Central or State Government.
• Part-time candidates who do not have avail of any Ph.D. Fellowship/scholarship/stipend from any Central or State Government shall be provided a one-time incentive of Rs. 3 Lakh on successful completion of the Ph.D. degree. However, they are not eligible for monthly scholarships.

Eligibility for admissions

A minimum of 60 percent marks OR a CPI/CGPA of 6.0 (on the scale of 10.00) shall be
required at the Master’s level qualifying examination (M.Tech./ M.E./ MCA) as
the specified minimum for admission in a Ph.D. programme for the concerned disciplines.

Above eligibility is minimum requirement only. Good academic record and higher qualification will be preferred, and mere eligibility shall not ensure a call for the admission test and/or viva voce.

All interested candidates, fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria, must submit the application by Google Form and submission of the scanned copy of biodata in the attached format.
