A GIAN course on Data Mining Algorithms for Graph, Text, and Streaming Data at IIITDM Jabalpur during Dec 19-27, 2017

Prof. Raj Bhatnagar, a distinguished professor of computer science at University of Cincinnati, Ohio, USA would deliver the modules in the course as a foreign expert. The major objective of the proposed course is to provide some insights into data analysis challenges for complex data types of graphs, texts, and data streams. The course will provide an outline of recent developments in the applications of these data types and research results. The course would be useful for Executives and researchers from government/non-government organization, students pursuing BTech/MTech/MS/MSc/Ph.D. degrees in computer and information sciences or faculties from reputed academic and technical institutions working in various domains of Sciences, Engineering, and Business Analytics who need to process complex and large datasets.

Interactive and visual approaches to Data Mining

The course will focus on data mining essentials and will show how to combine data visualizations and machine learning into a powerful framework for data exploration. The course will cover standard approaches to clustering, classification, regression and model selection, image and text mining, but emphasize their relatedness to data visualization and techiniques that can help us in understanding of derived predictive models.

Short Term Course - Pattern Recognition and its Applications

Last Date of Online Registration: 01 October, 2017 The broad objective of this course is to make individuals who are doing their research and teaching on Pattern Recognition. Pattern Recognition techniques are widely used for many applications such as biometrics, medical imaging etc since a long time. The objective of this course is to give basic of pattern recognition concept with applications to computer vision, which help to upgrade the expertise and capabilities of the faculty members of various engineering institutions in India so that they can generate climate for research and enthusiasm for academic excellence. The objective of the course work is also to provide the theoretical fundamentals coupled with practical knowledge of pattern recognition.
