About FDP:
Database Management Systems is a core course in Computer Science.  In 80 hours, during ten days, this FDP covers principles for managing the data, data models, database design, query processing, transaction management and concurrency control, security issues and database administration. Pointers to some research issues will also be provided.
Though DBMS course is widely offered through various modes, this FDP through NKN set the objectives to train the faculty to teach the course with deeper understanding of all the concepts with gained practical exposure. Rich experience of the speakers at premier institutes will make the participants to feel the difference. 
Participants are encouraged to list their expectations in their e-mail to the Global Coordinator.
Major Course Contents:

  • Data Models, Relational Data Model.
  • Relational Algebra-Calculus
  • SQL, Query Processing.
  • E R Modeling; Database Design.
  • Transaction Management; Concurrency Control; Crash Recovery.
  • Database Administration.
  • Flavor of BOSS-MOOL OS.

Who can apply: Faculty members of engineering colleges, MCA colleges and other allied colleges teaching DBMS. Persons from Industry who needs exposure/refresh the contents of this FDP.
How to apply: The format of application can be found in this brochure and it is to be filled-in and send through speed-post to the course coordinator with DD for registration fee. E-mail with scanned copies of application, DD must be sent to course coordinator and also to rbvs66@gmail.com
Participants in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Goa states and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Puducherry UTs have to apply to course coordinator at NIT Warangal.
Other participants have to identify E&ICT academy whose jurisdiction covers their State/UT of working location and apply to the course coordinator at such academy.
Registration Fee Particulars:
Faculty members: Rs 3000/- Only and Persons from Industry: Rs 9000/-Only.  Boarding and Lodging will be provided at free of cost. No Travel Allowance will be paid to the participants. Registration fee will be returned to SC/ST category participants provided they opt for it and their application number falls below 15%/7½% of total participants at an academy for this FDP.  Application number will be assigned upon receiving at academy based on category of the participant and time-stamp of receiving the application at academy. 
The participants who can attend at NIT Warangal need to send a crossed demand draft(DD) drawn in favour of “Director, NIT Warangal” and payable at SBH, NIT Warangal branch. For other institutes, please refer their websites.
Selection: 50 participants based on first-cum-first-serve basis. 10 more participants from industry will be allowed. The list of selected participants will be notified in the E&ICT web sites.
