Present and Future Perspective of 3D Printed Artificial Joints for Aging Society: Medical care is a socially constrained area that is not commercialized in Japan. However, these restrictions make the Japanese medical device market attractive to overseas technology development designers aiming for technological development. This time, I will give a presentation on the environment surrounding artificial joints. Japan is aging ahead of the rest of the world, and many elderly people continue to suffer from fragility. In Japan, where 3D printers are even offered for children's toys, artificial joints customized by this technology are hardly widespread. Medical device manufacturers around the world are committed to advanced technology design in various fields. However, this area, which is highly invasive to the human body, has a high barrier to the approval of medical devices by administrative agencies in Japan. Therefore, there is a current situation that artificial joints developed and tested in foreign countries are used in Japan. The field of artificial joints is a promising area of satisfaction for overseas technology development and designers.
