VISION
Our community will be a dynamic partner by bridging potential with opportunities for educational, professional and personal growth. This vision will be accomplished by:
* Providing a friendly environment to learn and grow.
* Embracing the ever-changing world of technology.
* Challenging to explore upto full potential through rigorous efforts.
MISSION
Our community is committed to provide quality, innovative, and accessible learning experiences which meet the lifelong needs of our diverse communities and the world we share. To inspire our community to realize a better future.
VALUES
To fulfill the vision and mission of our Club, these core values will guide our daily endeavors:
Learning • Excellence • Integrity • Respect • Creativity
Following are some of the key advantages of using the CAD software.
CAD(Computer -aided design) club provides the students the opportunity to visualize a design idea through the use of computer technology. Students get the basic exposure to CAD softwares like CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, Adams, etc.
By learning the CAD software, the club members looks to gain a deeper understanding, visualize the concepts through renderings and simulate how a design will perform in the real world. In our club we mainly focus on CATIA and SOLIDWORKS.
Computer-aided design is one of the many tools used by engineers and designers and is used in many ways depending on the profession of the user and the type of software in question.
CAD is one part of the whole Digital Product Development (DPD) activity within the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes, and as such is used together with other tools, which are either integrated modules or stand-alone products, such as:
* Computer-aided engineering (CAE) and Finite element analysis (FEA)
* Computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) including instructions to Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines
* Photorealistic rendering and Motion Simulation.
* Document management and revision control using Product Data Management (PDM).
CAD is also used for the accurate creation of photo simulations that are often required in the preparation of Environmental Impact Reports, in which computer-aided designs of intended buildings are superimposed into photographs of existing environments to represent what that locale will be like, where the proposed facilities are allowed to be built. Potential blockage of view corridors and shadow studies are also frequently analyzed through the use of CAD.
CAD has been proven to be useful to engineers as well. Using four properties which are history, features, parameterization, and high level constraints. The construction history can be used to look back into the model's personal features and work on the single area rather than the whole model. Parameters and constraints can be used to determine the size, shape, and other properties of the different modeling elements. The features in the CAD system can be used for the variety of tools for measurement such as tensile strength, yield strength, electrical or electro-magnetic properties. Also its stress, strain, timing or how the element gets affected in certain temperatures, etc.
In order to be in the CAD club you must read, agree and abide by the following rules. Rules not explicitly stated within this document may be put into effect by either advisors or the Co-ordinator if necessary.
* In order to attend the club sessions, you must take the membership of the club by filling in the membership form and paying the membership fee.
* Attend the weekly club sessions regularly.
* There will be no inappropriate behavior during the club session. Members are expected to respect one other.
* During the club session, computers will be used only for club related activities. Not maintaining the discipline may lead you to the expulsion from the club membership.
* Members will not leave the session in-between without consulting the session in charge. Before leaving, you must inform the session in charge.
* The Coordinator reserves the right to change the rules and regulations at any time without any prior notice
