About Us

We are the Astronomy and Physics Society of IIITDM Jabalpur. We are a group of many astro-enthusiasts under the Gymkhana of the IIITDM Jabalpur. Here, we attempt to bring about an interest and awareness in the field of Astronomy and Space Research. All along the we have been promoting amateur astronomy through talks, competetions and shows.

Our Efforts

Astronomy Sessions

  • Regular sessions related to several astronomical stuffs
  • Separate Discussions And knowledge sessions
  • Workshops like Image Processing Workshop and Telescope Workshop

Observatory Sessions

  • We perform Observation sessions on a regular basis. During these sessions, telescopes are used to see the Moon, nebulae, planets such as Saturn, and other celestial bodies. However, naked-eye observations and the use of binoculars are also crucial in astronomy.

Quizzing And Competitions

  • We actively organise quizzes and other competitions like Treasure Hunts open for everyone.

Nakshtra - The exhibtion

Our Annual exhibtion potraying various aspects of astronomy is organised every year in the annual technical fest of the institute.

Quizzing

Various quizzing contests are organised throughout the year on various platforms.

Chronos

A Space game based on basic science knowledge is organised annuallly in the technical fest of the institute.
