PDPM IIITDM Jabalpur is a premier institute set up by Government of India with the primary goal to educate engineers in dealing with problems of design and manufacturing of engineering goods. The Institute invites applications from Indian nationals for the faculty positions at the level of Assistant Professor for its R&D activities and teaching of courses in the disciplines of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Mechanical Engineering (ME) and Design Programme. Experience and scale for the positions shall be as per Government of India/ MHRD norms.

 

Candidates must have (a) consistently good academic record (b) ability and aptitude for teaching undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses and (c) experience in carrying out independent research. The candidate should have publications in journals of repute and/or experience in carrying out developmental projects of merit. Basic degree in respective branch is preferred.

Based on the qualifications of the candidates and the need of the department concerned, applications received will be processed through duly constituted selection committees at regular intervals.

All other allowances are at par with the Central Government employees stationed at Jabalpur. In case of candidates with higher relevant experience and qualifications, higher initial emoluments may be offered. Basic degree in respective branch is preferred. Candidates must have (a) consistently good academic record (b) ability and aptitude for teaching undergraduate as well as post graduate courses. Candidates applying for the higher positions may also be considered for lower positions. The Selection Committee may relax the professional experience requirements for candidates with exceptional academic record.

 

Reservation: Without any compromise on qualification, experience and competence, reservation as per Government of India rules 15%, 7.5% and 27% for SCs, STs and OBCs respectively is applicable at entry level positions of Assistant Professors in Science and Technology. Necessary certificate must be enclosed with the application form. GOI policy on reservation of faculty positions also includes that for persons with physical disability.

 

For internal candidates on permanent positions seeking career advancement, MHRD, Govt. of India norms as applicable to IIITs will be followed in respect of pay-scale, qualification and experience.

 

Applications should be accompanied with a non-refundable Demand Draft of Rs. 200/- (Gen/OBC category candidates only) drawn in favour of “PDPM IIITDM JABALPUR” payable at any nationalized bank at Jabalpur. GENERAL INFORMATION

 

  1. A research initiation grant upto Rs.10 lakhs is available to new faculty members. This enables an early start to research work until project funding from external agencies is obtained.
  2. Reimbursement of relocation charges of upto Rs.90000/- for faculty from abroad for reimbursement of air fare for self and spouse and cost of transportation of goods. Reimbursement for self and family and transport of goods for faculty joining from within India as per rules.
  3. The Institute provides a Cumulative Professional Development Allowance (CPDA) of Rs. 3 lakhs for every block of three years as per MHRD, Govt. of India norms.
  4. The posts carry allowances such as HRA, TA, DA (at present 45%), Reimbursement of Tuition fee (for 2 children) @ Rs.1000/- per month, Medical facilities, facility of LTC as per GOI/ Institute Rules.
  5. The Institute encourages interaction of the faculty with industry, other research and professional institutions. Presently under Japan collaboration, five faculty members are sent every year for such interaction to initiate collaboration with universities and industries in Japan.

 

INSTRUCTIONS

 

  1. Separate application must be filled up if a candidate is applying for a faculty position in more than one discipline or for more than one post.
  2. Envelope containing application form should be superscribed with “APPLICATION FOR FACULTY POSITION”.
  3. Candidates called for interview will be re-imbursed air fare by Economy class (By Air India /Indian Airlines only) from the place of their residence and back by the shortest route for travel within India.
  4. Candidates from overseas are also encouraged to apply. The Institute holds web interviews for such candidates.
  5. No correspondence will be entertained from candidates regarding postal delays, conduct & result of interviews and reasons for not being called for interview.
