The design paradigm has been changed leaps and bounds since the last decade. The design process adopted by the Indian industry in particular is not keeping pace with the technological developments associated with the modern design technology. Keeping this aim in mind, the Institute is holding the First Design Workshop on Leading-edge Theories and Practices in Design. The Workshop would focus on:
-
Leading-edge Product Design
-
Manufacturing technologies facilitating development of advanced product design
-
Advances in fundamental design technologies
-
Role of design software in design advancement
-
To inculcate the culture of integrating design with production and treating design process with a holistic approach and not in isolation.
-
To create an enabling environment for establishing and incubating design paradigm.
-
To identify the potential areas of design services that the Institute can offer to the industry.
-
To open a dialogue between the Institute and the Industry and evolve an active plan for ensuring continuous interaction with specific goals
